April 2012 WOBC Spotlight of the month: Julie Solomon

Our April 2012 WOBC Spotlight of the month is Julie Solomon. Julie is Co-Owner of Corporate Hiring Solutions, Inc.
Julie discovers the needs of both clients and prospective job-seekers to make placements to her client companies even more successful. Not only does she match the skills of the job applicant, she recommends the type of work environment (for example, formal corporate vs. informal, business casual) in which they will thrive. Julie also excels over her competitors by finding job opportunities and identifying qualified applicants from entry level -- to middle-management --- to CFO and CEO. Recent placements have included – but are not limited to – Marketing Manager, Regional Sales Director, Quality Finance Auditor, Import–Export coordinator, Human Resource Generalist, Human Resource Recruiter, Executive Administrative Assistant and a Paralegal.
Julie has recently become an active member of a well known organization called Emerging Leaders, a division of the Long Island Women's Agenda (LIWA), www.liwa.org.

Happy Anniversary to the Women Owned Business Club!

One year ago, we launched our site and began promoting and marketing our members. As most of you know getting a business off the ground is very difficult and we are doing it for 3 companies. Our job board; www.thejobmatchers.com, our recipe site; www.thegourmetmom.com  and of course, our women’s networking club; www.womenownedbusinessclub.com. Before we started the WOBC, we both (Chrissie and I) knew many very ambitious, intriguing, creative and successful women and now we know hundreds. The WOBC has grown in leaps and bounds and has given our members the boost that they need to promoting their businesses. As we all try and find the best way to utilize our advertising money, as it is usually a very small amount, I would advise you to remember very important things. Because the internet is a very valuable and powerful tool, you need to realize that power of the backlink. Being  a member gives you a backlink to your website. This means when people Google me, my companies or anything that has to do with the WOBC, you or your companies name will return in the search. This is called a back link. Most companies charge hundreds of dollars for backlinks and usually do not stay at the top of the search engine because they are not constantly worked. We at WOBC work our brands everyday all day. All our sites are linked; which means they are all linked to you. We decided at the end of the year to make our renewal for the WOBC to be $5 annually. This fee is not for us, but to keep up with the costs of paying for the hosting, etc. Our goal is to make us all a success.  You do not necessarily need to be greedy to get there. We have run into a few of those companies that we advertised with. We paid on price for ad space and then the next month they more than doubled. There doesn’t seem to be any loyalty and we believe in it. We are stronger as a group.

Besides the back linking we have 40 twitter accounts that I tweet each of them every 5 minutes, yes that is every 5 minutes. It is very time consuming, but extremely worth it. In one month our monthly page views on The Gourmet Mom went from 500 a day to 3,000 a day. There is great value in twitter and we are here to help you with that. When you sign up or renew, you can submit something to me weekly that you would like us to tweet. It will reach approximately 124,000 twitter followers.

Being the spotlight of the month is a very desired source of solicitation. Besides writing an article about you, you are also spotlighted on our LinkedIn group; which that reaches my 7,000 connections.

New and exciting things are coming to the WOBC. We are looking to getting the word out about you and your company. Our dedication is to you. If there is something we can do for  you that is not listed, let us know.
